Philips DVP5982/37B DVD/DivX Player Region-Free Hack

The Philips DVP5982/37B DVD/DivX player (often on sale as refurbished on http://www.outlet.philips.com/) can be hacked to be region-free as follows:

1. Hold the Stop key on the remote to Open the DVD tray.
2. Press Setup.
3. Select Preference (tray MUST be open in order for the Preferences menu to show).
4. Press 1,3,8,9,3,15--then press the up/down key to select 0--the player will now be region-free.
